ข้อได้เปรียบของ plate ที่เข้าได้ 4 ทิศทาง

plate ส่วนใหญ่ ของ Peak design มีรูปทรงสี่หลี่ยมจัตุรัส ทำให้สามารถใส่กับ capture ได้ทุกทิศทาง  เมื่อคุณติด plate เข้าที่ตัวกล้องแล้ว คุณก็สามารถใช้งานเข้ากับ capture ได้ทั้ง 4 ทิศทาง (ตามภาพ)

ข้อดีอย่างหนึ่งคือ โดยปกติแล้วการเปลี่ยนเลนส์เป็นปัญหาที่ยุ่งยาก แต่ด้วยความสามารถของ Capture ที่สามารถใส่ได้ทั้ง 4 ทิศทางนี้ ทำให้คุณสามารถเปลี่ยนเลนส์ได้อย่างรวดเร็ว เราลองมาดูวิธีการกัน

ในขณะที่คุณเสียบกล้องเข้ากับ capture คุณจะต้องหันด้านเลนส์คว่ำลง แต่เมื่อไหร่ที่คุณต้องการจะเปลี่ยนเลนส์ (ด้วย plate ที่เข้าได้ทั้ง 4 ทิศทางนี้) คุณก็แค่หันด้านเลนส์ไปทางด้านหน้า 90 องศา ซึ่งตำแหน่งนี้จะทำให้การเปลี่ยนเลนส์นั้นง่ายขึ้นมาก และช่วยให้คุณสามารถใช้มือทั้ง 2 ข้างในการจัดการเปลี่ยนเลนส์ของคุณได้อย่างสบาย

แต่อย่สงไรก็ตาม plate ที่ใส่ capture ได้ 2 ทิศทางของ peak design ก็ยังคงเป็นเรื่องง่ายในการเปลี่ยนเลนส์อยู่ดี วิธีการก็แค่เพียงคุณหันด้านหน้ากล้องขึ้นด้านบน ก็จะสามารถเปลี่ยนของคุณได้อย่างง่ายดายเช่นกัน

plate ส่วนใหญ่ที่ทาง peak design ได้ทำขึ้นมา จะใส่ลงใน capture ได้ 4 ทิศทาง แต่จะมีข้อยกเว้นของ plate เหล่านี้ :

• PROplate ที่ใส่อะแดปเตอร์สำหรับเข้าขาตั้งกล้อง Manfrotto RC2 : ถ้าคุณกำลังใช้ PROplate ที่ติดอะแดปเตอร์นี้ จะสามารถเข้า capture ได้ 2 ทิศทาง
• MICROplate : ออกแบบมาสำหรับกล้องที่มีขนาดเล็ก ซึ่ง MICROplate สามารถเข้า capture ได้เพียง 2 ทิศทาง
• DUALplate : ทาง peak design ยกเลิกการผลิต plate ชนิดนี้แล้ว ซึ่ง DUALplate สามารถเข้า capture ได้เพียง 2 ทิศทาง

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 2 AND 4 WAY PLATE ENGAGEMENT

Some of our quick-release plates will engage in Capture in 4 directions. Some only in 2 directions. Lot’s of folks ask us things like “what the hell does this mean?” and “so what?” and “why can’t you just say it in English, doc?”

Point taken. This article should help.

THE ADVANTAGE OF 4-WAY ENGAGEMENT

Most of our quick-release plates fit into Capture omni-directionally. Since they’re square, that means 4 directions. This means that when the plate is attached to your camera, your camera can be inserted (and locked) into Capture in 4 directions:

There’s really one key advantage to this: the ability do to a quick lens change. Lens changes are a royal pain in the butt. In addition to having two fragile lenses that you need to hold onto during the process, you also need your camera positioned so that the lens mount is accessible.

 

Normally, you’d have your lens mount (and lens) facing downwards while your camera is clipped into Capture. With a 4-way compatible plate, you can remove your camera, give it a 90-degree turn, and clip it in so that the lens is facing sideways. This position makes changing a lens much easier, and gives you both hands free to manage your lenses.

Note that with our 2-directional plates, lens changing is still easy. You’ll just have your camera facing up instead of sideways. Some purists scoff at having the exposed mirror of your camera facing straight up, but provided that you take reasonable precaution we think it’s fine.

Most of the plates we make insert into Capture in 4 directions, with the exception of these:

• PROplate with Manfrotto RC2 adapters Installed : If you’re using PROplate and you’ve installed the Manfrotto RC2 adapters, it will only insert in Capture in 2 directions.
• MICROplate : Made for a particular range of small cameras, MICROplate only fits in 2 directions.
• DUALplate : The discontinued DUALplate only fits in 2 directions.
